Sylvester's - Big, Hot N' Juicy Burgers

I do believe these are the best burgers around. Sylvester's is a small restaurant offering big, juicy burgers. The few indoor tables are usually taken, so plan on eating out on the patio. Ordering can be a bit of a challenge for first-timers. The menu is organized well, but there is so much to choose from. And when you've got a line of hungry folks crowding around you wanting to order, the pressure can get intense. Just take a deep breath and pick one. You can't go wrong.

First you'll need to decide if you want a chicken fillet or a ground beef patty (if it's beef, you'll have to decide if you want a 1/3 lb. or 1/2 lb. patty). Then there are the 11 "flavors." You can choose from Old Fashion, Cajun, Sauteed Onion, Pancho Loco, Fiesta, and so on. The two that we've tried and loved are the Hana and California. The Hana burger has bacon, pineapple, teriyaki glaze, swiss cheese, and Sylvester's sauce along with all the usual fixin's of lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles. Grab about 12 napkins for that one. The California has all the usual stuff plus avocado, pepper jack cheese, and Sylvester's sauce. Delicious!

Other menu items are available if you're not in the mood for a burger. Sandwiches include tri-tip, hot or cold turkey, and vegetarian options. They've also got corn dogs, hot dogs, polish dogs, grilled cheese, buffalo burgers and kid-sized burgers (1/4 lb). Sylvester's side orders are worth a trip alone. The french fries are wonderfully seasoned. If you're interested in trying something different, you can order the chili cheese fries, onion rings, deep fried mushrooms and deep fried zucchini. The shakes and malts are amazingly thick and rich - your choice of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or pineapple.

Sylvester's is a great place to fill up and still keep the change. Burgers and chicken fillets are priced from $4.55 to $7.45 depending on size and toppings. Hot dogs and sandwiches range from $2.65 to $5.35.

Kids' Opinion: "I think that they have delicious hot dogs and I would never miss a chance to get one of those vanilla malts. Their fries are super-duper good."
