Open 7:30am - 5:30pm, and until 4pm Sunday. Closed Tuesdays.

My life changed when I discovered La Parisienne. Until then, I had not realized that I could find European-style chocolate-filled brioche right here in my home town of Morro Bay. Not to mention delicious croissants, tasty pastries, fabulous quiches and so much more.

Buona Tavola is a popular Italian restaurant situated in San Luis Obispo's delightfully vibrant downtown. I highly recommend dining in downtown San Luis Obispo where you can enjoy a richly diverse shopping area, and an abundance of history and beauty with the mission, parks and river.

Thai Boat is aptly named: Thai cuisine served in a boat-shaped building. The fare at Thai Boat is flavorful, and the kindness and attention shown to customers is delightful. The restaurant is situated amidst the bustle of a working pier, making the atmosphere quite casual. Most customers order to go, since seating is limited to two tables inside and two tables outside.

Franks is a great place to go when you've got a craving for a burger or a hot dog. The smell upon entering is wonderful, the way a burger joint should be. The dining area has white tables with red benches and there are equally colorful tables with umbrellas outside. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table when ready.

The Flying Dutchman is one of Morro Bay's many classic waterfront restaurants. Dining is available both inside and out with wonderful views of Morro Rock and the harbor. The menu is varied enough to satisfy appetites of land-lovers and sea-farers alike. You'll find standard dishes such as fish and chips and a burger, as well as a few creative options like local sand dabs and a delicious seared ahi salad.

Cabo San Luis is a casual restaurant with a delightful "Baja" flavor: the walls have grass hut roofs, tables are covered with a tropical vinyl, and cervesa ads abound. The biggest decor highlight for our family is the large tropical fish tank. Set in the middle of one of the dining areas, the square tank is framed with a countertop and barstools making it a perfect place to eat and watch the fish. (Somehow vastly different from eating a burger while watching the cattle graze.)

I do believe these are the best burgers around. Sylvester's is a small restaurant offering big, juicy burgers. The few indoor tables are usually taken, so plan on eating out on the patio. Ordering can be a bit of a challenge for first-timers. The menu is organized well, but there is so much to choose from. And when you've got a line of hungry folks crowding around you wanting to order, the pressure can get intense. Just take a deep breath and pick one. You can't go wrong.

If you're in the mood for a hand-carved roast beef sandwich, Hofbrau is the place to be. The tantalizing aromas should help you find your way to the restaurant hidden behind the other shops. Hofbrau offers a casual dining atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Diners pick up a tray and place orders at the counter where the soups and salads are served cafeteria-style. At the beginning of the line is the roast beef, carved per order. It's difficult to get past the delicious smell and actually order something else, but whatever your choice, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.

Ah Giovanni's. When you're hungry for fried oysters, there's just no other place. Giovanni's offers a unique approach to bayside dining with an outside window for ordering and picking up your meal (one of two in town). There are a good number of outdoor tables available, thanks to the remodel completed this summer (no inside dining here). The line can be quite long and you may have to wait some time for your food. However, the many seagulls and pigeons walking around should tell you that it's worth the wait.

Tus Amigos is a funny little restaurant in Los Osos that our family loves to frequent. The menu is posted on the wall as you enter, conveniently located near the cash register where you place your order. Menu items are purchased individually or in "plates" which include beans and rice for dinner, and eggs, beans, potatoes and choice of tortilla for breakfast.
